Sorry Beacon. Just did the magic behind the steam tour yesterday. No one knew the schedule of Lilly's return.

Unless, of course, you are Engineer Joe from the tour that I spoke with. If it is you, thank you so much for a great tour and the many photo opportunities. Gary is a great speaker and you all answered our questions to satisfaction. I was just awe struck at the size of the engines for narrow gauge. Even though I know CK and EP at Disneyland were built to 5/8th scale of normal, the other 3 were built by Baldwin Loco Works and are full size yet scale to CK and EP perfectly and are much smaller than Roy. Even WDW rolling stock is huge! I can stand to my full 6'2" and still have head room in Roy's cab and in the Excursion cars! At Disneyland I am constatnly ducking!

I would think beacon_joe knows what he is talking about.

Sorry I am not engineer Joe who gave the tour. I am however a tour guide, I just work much less than I used to due to living out of state. But I do make my way down about once a month to play with those trains. I am currently working on a much larger project involving main line steam locomotives in another state to the north. My information about Lilly comes from several different sources, some of them are actually turning the wrenches if you know what I mean. Did not mean to step on anybody's toes, just wanted to keep folks informed.

No toes stepped on, sir. In fact I wish they would do a rededication for Lilly Belle. I also wish there had been more train merchandice offered at wdw while we were there. I ordered the only train attraction poster offered and as silly as it sounds, got the mine train (Disneyland attraction) from WDW as well. Thank you, Joe, for your dedication steam.

I was just curious as to where Lilly was being refurbished. I thought I had read somewheres that she was being re-done at Strasburg (PA?), or at SteamTown (which, if I recall, is in Scranton?). Would love to head over to PA now that I'm in Ohio, and try and catch her before she heads back south....

I already did pop in at strasburg in the fall. They have her pretty well hidden because I couldn't find her even when I did a shop tour.

Not only do they have her well hidden, but they will also deny any knowledge of her whereabouts.

Did the contract change? When I was there in March, the crews told me Tweetsie was out this time.
