AttractionsMagazine.com has some aerial views of the construction going on for the Fantasyland expansion in the Magic Kingdom. Included is a shot of the train station, which will no longer be just a covered platform.

See AttractionsMagazine.com for more views of the area.

It's pretty ugly now, but I can't wait to see the completed station. I never was a big fan of the look of Mickey's Toontown Fair station so hopefully the new one will be an improvement.

I see that the old water tower is still there. I hope that they make some improvements to the look of that as well. Not to sound insulting to the WDWRR fans but it looks kind of cheap. Maybe my eyes have been spoiled by the DRR's water tower.

I have always been jealous of the Disneyland water tower, too. It would be nice to see an upgrade here. But because that area will have a circus theme, I don't imagine it will be too much different from how it is now, unfortunately.

Yes, a nice wooden tower beats a metallic, colorful tower any day.

I'm actually fond of the WDWRR's water tower. It looks nice to me and somewhat whimsical too. Wooden towers are nice, but all too common, so it's unique as well - You won't find anything like it anywhere else. I think it will also blend in a whole lot better with the Fantasyland circus theme, so I'd hate to see it go. A different color scheme wouldn't hurt though, at most. I like how it used to be painted a lot more, which was a light pink and blue paintscheme.

Whimsical is fine, but execution is what matters. The tower is hideous. A cartoony one, a la the ToonTown tower at Anaheim is a better example.

And "all too common"? That's what they had back then!! Unless you want to throw being prototypical out the window...

It's a neat departure from a wood tower; I know it's not prototypical, but at least it blends in with the theme and that makes up for it. And besides, what's prototypical about a giant white Space Mountain in the distance or the TTA above where the trains pass? It's Disney, not the Durango & Silverton. You describe it as "cartoony", well, they didn't call it TOON TOWN for nothing.

Space Mountain and the TTA have nothing to do with the WDWRR; the train just passes through it. Since the water tower is part of the WDWRR "world/story" it should match and compliment the railroad.

The water tower in Anaheim actually looks like a real water tower that could be used. The one in Florida looks completely silly next to the beautiful and real locomotives. The one in Anaheim actually makes an attempt to bridge both styles and eras-- the cartoon world and the real world with real locomotives-- and makes a compromising design. The Florida tower (and the rest of their "Toon Town") went for a cheap and simple design, and lacks the curved lines or slightly askew angles that makes the Anaheim counter part more appealing.

But everyone has their own opinion. If you like big steel pipe supports with anchor bolts sticking out and sheet metal siding, then so be it.

Nicely put, for a guy whose avatar is a big battery toy.
