That section of track looks rather bare now. I wonder what they did with that section of bent rail that stuck into the front window of the cab.

I found out first hand last week the answer to my wondering. The section of bent up rail is still sticking up into the air where the locomotive used to be.

It was sad seeing a bunch of rocks on the track where the Mine Train used to be, but it's now in a better place, hopefully out of the damaging elements.

If you look closely, the design on the side of the NWRR headlights and the Marsh's headlight match. You could get a replica of the Marsh's headlight and modify a little bit to match the NWRR headlights.

Actually, the design varies; I've seen two different designs, one of which resembles the Marsh Headlight design, the other is different and is visible in The "E" Ticket Magazine on page 24. The latter is from later years.

Truth be told, I didn't notice the train being gone yesterday.

I personally have no clue, I just noticed it was missing and was really upset over that. Its meant to look like a train of "Big Thunder Mine Co." according to the Mark Twain spiel and what upsets me is that "common" people think it is actually a Big Thunder train. Even though I was born YEARS after the NWRR closed its doors (actually I was born a little bit before Cascade Peak saw its final days) I still think it deserves a better tribute.

I heard that was the plan. I wouldn't be surprised if it shows up at the next D23 expo.

I thought I had seen a picture of the bell that showed some markings on it. Does anyone know if the bell was marked NWRR?

When I was at Disneyland a little over a week ago and rode in the pilot house of the Mark Twain, I asked the captain what happened to the mine train. He helpfully informed me that "They took it out."

I suppose if you don't know what was there you wouldn't miss it, but I think that span of track really could use something. It's looking a little nekid right now.
