Bill, simply OUTSTANDING. My compliments to Sundance.
Dog and others, just by way of background, in 1955 these pins were, in fact, given to the engineers on the Santa Fe & Disneyland Railroad. Of course, there were only four or five qualified engineers on the line then. So actual pins are exceedingly rare.
Bill, did you really see one on eBay?
The only way I know about these is because a lady out in CA was doing some geneology research, and had heard that her grandfather was one of the engineers on Opening Day. She e-mailed me about him. I didn't have that roster at the time, and said I didn't know (turns out he was). But she did send me a couple blurry photos of her grandfather's engineer badge. It was clear enough that Sam was able to replicate everything. I asked the lady for dimensions, and her brother gave me a caliper measurement.
With some tweaking of an existing font, Sam recreated the font around the border, and we used some period references for the "Santa Fe" and "Disneyland" fonts. Lots of credit goes to Sam for getting everyting "just right."
This is the result.
