I saw several folks purchasing more than one and then this one shows up on eBAY http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160681438933+&item=160681438933&lgeo=1&vectorid=229466. Somehow that doesn't seem quite fair. Too bad Disney doesn't take pre-orders like the Carolwood Society does to ensure everyone who wants one can.

I agree! that sort of stuff has really turned me off to the "limited edition" Disney stuff. It was really, REALLY bad with the Tiki Room stuff a few years ago :x

Right there in his description:
"I purchased 2 of these engines from the Disneyland Gallery in person on Nov 12th. One for my collection and the other to sell ! ( I love Capitalism) Retail price @ the Disneyland Gallery is $500.00 plus tax. If there are any left! "

No shame at all.

Who would be a good contact at Disney to express my appreciation?

Just address it to Guest Relations.

Both systems were built by Hunter Railway Systems.

While Hunter did make the O-scale table and the bridges for the G-gauge layout, the actual G-gauge railroad was fabricated by an Imagineer. The same fellow who built the system in the Dream Suite.

What is the deal with the N Gauge CK Holiday in the display case-no cast members even knew it was in there or why it was there.

That is the prototype of a product that is being considered. It could have been left off the display, but the thought was to get it out there to gauge guest reactions. My understanding is that there will be a sign to that effect soon. If they decide to go ahead with the product, it will likely premiere early next year. I'll announce that here (unless someone beats me to it).

They could also provide no information on the O scale WDW Railroad locomotive.

There is also a sign coming for that. The O-scale Walter E. Disney will arrive sometime late winter / early spring. The show runs for six months, and there will likely be new product showing up from time to time.

Does anyone know if the art exhibit pieces are coming to POD??

I've heard no talk about that. Of course, that doesn't mean it isn't going to happen, but I don't recall the Park offering every piece of WDI concept art for sale as POD in the past.

Since the Ward Kimball isn't labeled as a limited run, for some reason I thought they would have plenty on hand.

They did have plenty. Demand was stronger than expected. It's not a limited edition, and my understanding is that there will be more on the shelves soon.

Good news about the CK Holiday!! Looks like there did the tooling to match the real locomotive --proportions looks great!. Any talk of Disneyland Railroad rolling stock in G gauge to go with the Ward Kimball??

............................Since the Print On Demand/ Art of Demand has been in use (2002) the system has always offered at least 20 plus images from the recent exhibit. WITH ONE EXCEPTION: the Disneyland 1955 exhibit prior to the Magic On The Water exhibit has NO POD/ARD offerings as when that exhibit opened the original print vendor when out of business and Disneyland merch was unable to have the print selections uploaded to the system or print them. When a new vendor was found the exhibit changed. However NONE of the current railroad images have been available before and are not on the current system...........yet.

I'm wondering if they fear the old WED/WDI art might outshine much of the newer--character laden--art pieces and Pre-printed pieces.
I agree.

I would have been ALL OVER this color rendition of the Ripley before purchasing any of the newer art.

I won't purchase anything with a cartoon character--I know they're trying to appeal to more than railfans, but that's just me. Even those Mickey balloons in the Ward Kimball attraction poster have me a little turned off.

EDIT: Looks like they removed the Mickey balloons from the production piece, and "plussed" the piece a little with details and enhanced lettering. Smart moves.

In the photos of the artwork shown before the show opening, I recognised the common use of the FWRR poster illustration design to depict the trains running today.

I don't recall seeing any such use of FWRR art...

You're welcome. I'll try to get pictures of little things I missed on my next visit.
