Was does everyone here think about the Disneyland Railroad closing at 4 due to the Candlelight Procession (it has a 20 night run this year). I know that as a railfan I would be frustrated that I can't get railfan (or foam around the park). But for the average guest, does anyone think that it would make a diiference? Also Captain EO, the Main Street Vehicles, and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln also close early. I don't know why they can't just skip Main Street Station.

I don't like it at all. What place is this, Magic Kingdom?

For those that don't know, the WDWRR closes early before Magic Kingdom on a regular basis.

I am not at all a fan of running the Candlelight Processional so many nights...Disneyland is a theme park and it really frustrates how much of the park they have to close for the various shows and things...

It should be one night like it has been in the past. They made extra shows for the annual passholders. time to write a complaint to Disneyland as an AP member!!

I agree, Candlelight Procession is cool and maybe 2 or 3 nights would be nice, but 20 nights?! That's over doing it...

if your going to have the CLP 20 nights then you need a dedicated venue like they use at Epcot. then you can have as many performances as you like with out interupting the rest of the park. That's my 2 cents.

There really isn't a venue inside Disneyland or California Adventure that wouldn't affect regular park operation. At one time there was the Festival of Fools Arena but that's now being used year round. Main problem is that space is a real premium in Anahiem...

We were really hoping they would have gotten the Fantasy Faire Theater rehabbed in time as a venue for 40 shows/20 nights. But alas, it's all jammed onto Main Street. About now it'd be back to normal after 3 nights, but we still have 17 more to go. Though I do have to say, they made a pretty big effort in streamlining everything, like the light towers condensed and the flow of foot-traffic well regulated. And rather than shutting the trains down all together, the trains stay open all day, close, and then REOPEN after Candlelight. I do wish they could just bypass through the station during performances, but hey, that makes too much sense.

At WDWRR we close early for fireworks due to the fact that our track is in the fallout zone. And once they clear the fallout zone it is to close to park closing to reopen.

Candlelight is a huge deal in Florida, but is ran at EPCOT and runs the entire time from Thanksgiving to Christmas with three shows a night. I think it is great that they are offering so many nights at Disneyland, it gives me more opportunity while scheduling my trip to see it.

Yea I know that it stinks the railroad closing early for it, but in the bigger picture it will have a greater guest satisfaction being able to have so many chances to see candlelight (a seasonal event) than not being able to ride the railroad (an everyday attraction).

I know that is not the thought process of most of the people on the board, but in this industry you have to cater to your guests, they pay the paychecks.

The problem, Joe, is Disneyland is tiny compared to the Magic Kingdom Park. The Candlelight takes place while Fantasmic is going which happens to be right before the fireworks show. Taking away the train cuts off access to easy movement within Disneyland. Fantasmic causes huge congestion problems from Big Thunder and Tiki Room all the way back to the Haunted Mansion. The Candlelight clogs Main Street and everyone is prepping for the Christmas Parade and Fireworks. The venue maybe needs to be changed to Calif Adventure which can handle the guest population.

This time of year, Disneyland reaches capacity fast. Imagine a 2 hour wait to see Small World or Huanted Mansion for the seasonal overlay. Everyone caught on that Christmas is the time to be at the Park.
