Here's the e-bay description, preserved for posterity before the auction comes down (sadly, my posting it here will probably give it a life of its own: "But I read this on Burnsland, a well-known Disney train site, so it must be true!"):
More special tickets to Disneyland from the collection we've be selling. We assume that most fans of Disney and Disneyland know the story of the presidential car that is part of the Disneyland Railroad, and brought out periodically to entertain celebrities and even ordinary folks.
The Lilly Belle of course is named for Mrs. Walt Disney, Lillian, Walt's wife. He had the fancy presidential car outfitted and named in her honor and he and she used to ride on the car whenever they were touring the Happiest Place on Earth. Walt had his chair designated, she had her favorite spot in a love seat directly across from him.
During their lifetimes the car hosted myriad celebrities Walt would take for a spin around his park. Over the years the car has remained for special uses and occasionally for use by ordinary guests like you and me. Unfortunately, guests cannot ride alone; they need a guide because several folks stole bits and pieces of memorabilia from the car. How un-Mickey-like.
How old is this ticket?
Our ticket is number 2004, just 2,000 riders back in the days when Walt was alive in the sixties and earlier. Just for a comparison, we recently saw a ticket someone said was from their 2010 ride on the Lilly Belle. Their ticket was the same only its number was 07041576. In other words, some time in the recent past the Lilly Belle hosted her 7 millionth rider--and our ticket is from just the 2,004th run of the train car. 7,041,576 vs 2,004 on our ticket.
This is your opportunity to purchase an original ticket easily from the first month or even week the Lilly Belle was running.
Thanks for looking. Sent properly padded, as always, and postpaid.
