Does anyone know if the Disneyland Railroad Conductors uniforms are black or navy blue?
Anyone got a good picture of one?
Thanks
Bill

They used to be black, but today they are a very, very dark blue that often looks black.

I think that's called midnight blue. Same color as early Model Ts, before the "any color you want, as long as it's black" period.

I'd read a blog that said that the conductor uniforms are based on old New Orleans Police uniforms, but I have never seen that referenced any other place. I doubt it.

DRR Stuff

The old New Orleans policeman images I've been able to find look like...police uniforms. I don't see why Disney would copy a police uniform when it's just as easy to copy a real conductor uniform.

Nice to see Preston's and my drawing of the railroad layout so prominently displayed on the site above! Oh, and the goof on the Gurley's age is pretty glaring.

Us Sting Ray enthusiasts call it Daytona Blue.

Amusingly enough, I recently called Waterbury button to get some Disneyland uniform buttons.

While they are listed on their website - http://www.waterburybutton.com/cart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=0&idproduct=21925#details - they are "out of stock". And they will not be producing any more because, they no longer have the tooling.

So... who is making them now? Any guesses?

Who did they sell their tooling to?

I don't know that they sold it. I was just told that they no longer had it.

It would not surprise me if Disney acquired it from them.

That is funny about the color, one because I am color blind and secondly, because I thought they were black!!!
