Ynottony: You need to go somewhere other than Kinkos (now FedEx Office) to get your copy made - They've been burned too many times in lawsuits for production copyright violations (things like college students copying whole textbooks and selling them) and now they have to be overly paranoid by corporate policy. And with FedEx buying them out, now their pockets are even deeper and make an even juicier target for the Sharks In Suits.

I've seen many horror stories of authors and artists up against a deadline who take their own works in to a Kinkos for reproduction, and they have to go through a whole involved rigamarole of signed affidavits to prove that they themselves are the copyright holder, and they simply want to make copies of their own works...

If you are making one copy of the poster for framing and display while keeping the original stored safely away, IMHO (and IANAL) that falls under the Fair Use doctrines of Copyright. Just like owning the CD or Album, and ripping a digital copy for your iPod - you already own the source material and are just making a copy for your own use.

Man what a shame that this poster could not be avaialble as an "official" copy.

I soooo.. regret not taking 8 mm movies in 1977 when my wife and I rode the FWRR around the park. I actually remember seeing this poster in FW!

Even a copy would be nice.

I absolutely respect the copyright regs but it is still a shame that those who love these memories cannot enjoy hanging a copy on their wall.

An interesting note:
most of the Fort Wilderness Railroad posters that show up on Ebay ARE reproductions! The originals were silk screened. For a short time WED produced two posters for sale in the parks. One was the Fort Wilderness RR poster reproduced full size as offset lithography -sold at Fort Wilderness. The other was a full size reproduction of the Country Bear Jamboree attraction poster --these versions are identifiable as the list both Walt Disney World & Disneyland on the bottom. Both the bear poster and the FWRR poster sold for $5.00 rolled. There was a single product run on these.

The REAL Fort Wilderness poster cannot be mistaken as the colors are very bold and vibrant. The reproduction is still very nice, but the coloring looks a tad softer.

One photo of the poster I have is much longer than the one shown in the Broggie book. There's no more artwork, just an old-fashioned list of sales points for Fort Wilderness campground. Some are references to the train.

One could have a lot of fun, photoshopping that poster. :) For instance, the large lettering around the illustration reads "Fort Wilderness" on top, and "Campground Resort" beneath. I'm sure the lower part could be changed to read "Railroad".

Due to the another FWRR poster currently being on Ebay, there's a discussion on another forum, and Disney campers also would love to be able to by an affordable copy of this poster. It sure is a shame that nothing can be done. It sounds like it would be a good seller at the Fort (as well as here)!

Is there any chance that the CPHS could make a deal to offer a reproduction?
