When RMI first started producing the Keith Watson engines about 10 years ago, I seem to recall the Sweet Creek Mogul ran $35k ready-to-run and the Stuart tank engine about $28k. Last I heard, an RTR Sweet Creek is now in the neighborhood of $50k+ (but don't quote me on it). They're all gorgeous little machines, and all things considered, pretty competitively priced too thanks to the standardized design—at least compared to the cost of getting a true one-of-a-kind machine.

...like that Berk: http://www.jbodenmann.com/berk/berkshire.html

The 4-4-0 on that page looks kind of like the C K Holliday.

I don't know, that FW engine looks pretty darn good to me. I think I would rather have that one over the Berk. It has some real personality just like the real FWRR.

Phil:

I see that you are new, welcome

I must agree with you that the Faux FW engine Steve G. Speaks of, is a show stopper each time I have seen it. The Michael who took the photos seems to realy liked it also, by the amount of photo's he took of it on his site. It does support the same colors as the Fort Wilderness, but "It has a Tender" Maybe he doesn't have an engine like this or the Berk he foams over (which is also very impressive too). Sure looks like a Disney engine to me, I thought he was a Disney fan and an author about disney railorads. After all, the #1&2 engines at Disneyland must be Faux engines too, as they were patterned after the real enignes too. I'm just glad to see this running even as if a trubite. Great job RMI

Guess what, fwrr2/3? Even people who like Disney trains or write about them can like other trains, and can even have differing opinions.

You're right, though: I don't have an engine like that or even a Berk (which I certainly don't "foam" over, but do appreciate the fidelity to detail). The engines I "play" with are a little larger.

"I'm sure as a visitor to this site we all appreciate all types of loco's, as a girl I once knew said, "no matter what size". Not all of us here, have the ability to "play" with larger engines as may you or I do. Being Blessed, my largest personal engine is a Standard gauge, 56 1/2" switcher, but I certainly, as you appear to appreciate steam down to the 7 1/2 gauge.

Please consider in the future your public comments and vocal opinions made about others or their equipment, using Faux, a word for false or fake to describe someone's equipment is just uncalled for and offensive.
Consider the comments you made about the Carolwood Pacific Society and it's members some years ago, and apologized for on this site in July of 2004.

I read one of your books about Disney engines and saw the passion of your writings, knowing this, I thank you in advance for your future considerations.

What's important we all have fun and enjoy the spirit of the Railroading.

Ah! lively debate. I think I will like this forum. Thanks for the welcome FWRR 2/3. Fancy handle you have there.

Unfortunately (fortunate for my budget) I am not able to own a full scale locomotive, however the 7.5" gauge stuff is more than enough fun and a little more portable. So I will stick with that.

Greetings to all,

Phil

I see absolutely nothing offensive about the word "faux" in my post--which was not a comment on that engine BTW, but was instead directed to that Berk--which is an absolute masterpiece of modelbuilding in my book. I do believe I'm allowed to hold that opinion.

As such, I certainly don't intend to walk on egg shells around people who are "offended" by such innocuous posts as that.

As for any "comments" I made about Carolwood seven years ago, I'm afraid you'll have to refresh my memory. Besides, as my mother would say, "What does that have to do with the price of tea in China?"
