Hi Folks
Concerning Nature's Wonderland Railroad (The original Mine Train);
This bloke has been working on an improved (and more authentic to the original) design for the wheel assembly (4 wheel truck) for my 15" gauge mining cars. In all of my many photographs of the original mine train cars it is difficult to tell how the axles were monted to the truck frame. The frame clearly has an outside "C" channel which hides much of the wheels from view. What is happening with the axle mounting; are the bearings mounted inboard (in between the wheels) with some sort of additional longitudinal structure to attach them to the truck frame?

Looking forward to hearing from you all.......

-Dave

I've never seen a mine car in person, or have seen any pictures of that clearly show that particular detail. I'd say the axles are mounted on the inside side of the "C channel" frame. I'd would just go with what works and what looks accurate to the eye, rather than trying to do it exactly like the original especially if you're scaling it down.
