Word is slowly spreading around the live steam groups...

He is the last of the nine.

There is some mention of his steam work in the article:

"Johnston was a great steam man, and constructed what was regarded one of the world's best handbuilt scale model railways in his back garden. More ambitiously still, he restored, over a period of years, a locomotive (which he called the Marie-E) on his driveway, and then purchased 40 acres of land at Julian, California, where he and his sons laid out track for the engine and the carriage he had built for it."

The only man who's locomotive ran on the Disney layout! We'll never see that happen again. I know he was really touched by that and next to Ward Kimball I can't imagine it happening to a nicer guy!

From the Frank&Ollie website. Thanks John Lasseter & the Hillcrest Gang for making Ollie's last time behind the throttle a memorable one.
The last of the Nine Old Men are gone now...
