Although I've been to Disneyland, I've never been to DCA. The street the trolley runs on, is it set in the same 1890-1910 time span?

Although I'm waaaay too young to know the difference, I would put the time period in the 20s-30s. I thought I read somewhere that the intention was to depict the Hollywood Mr. Disney would have encountered in the pre-war years.

What length car, ideally, does DCA want?

It's a good thing that there's no prototype for the ToonTown Trolley, or we'd all be in a heap of trouble!

Ba-da-ba-da-ba-da....dats all folks!

That makes sense. So does the desire to use the modernized Hollywood car, with its characteristic paint scheme.

Obviously, the foreshortened model works for many here. My views tend to be highly idiosyncratic.

The DCA Red Cars need to live in a (1940's- as the park continues to develop thematically) "Hollywood Blvd." , and at Tower of Terror ( There will be a stop adjacent to TOT), as well as Buena Vista St.
Multiple periods of time over length of route.
Red Car in "Butterfly" paint scheme=Hollywood Blvd.

"Idiosyncratic": that's a two-dollar word that I had to go look up. LOL!

I think that context is a better word. Theme parks work on "suspension of disbelief". Or, that the viewer/participant loses one self through the immersion of where they are without trying....

I think that there are licenses that designers and artists take when making a themed environment, and they'll go as far as necessary to make that enviroment work (within budget, too, LOL).

As much as I'd LOVE to see these things, like a REAL Red car at DCA, it would look ouf of place, because the "Disneyesque" street, buildings etc...would not be up to the same level of accuracy--and context.

Roy, I find that your using "idiosyncratic" is perhaps a tongue-in-cheek self appraisal, you should bear in mind that your expertise--whether it applies to this thread or not--is very valuable, because it keeps the Imagineers in check, and to interpret those things "real" and historic.

I'd rather see an "accurate" interpretation, rather than a lame one, made up along the way...

There's a compliment in there for you, Roy, if you wade through my unintended highbrow commentary....

Why does the car have two trolley poles?

They're going to be rubber-tired trackless trolleys, aren't they?
