I know exactly what you mean by it not scaling down. That is why doll clothing, though actual fabric, looks like doll clothing and not real cloth. The fibers of the thread are normal size so it looks wrong when only a small amount is used. And that holds true for canvas as well. A small amount does not behave like a largers sheet would.

I will talk to ozark about their fittings, though I like the idea of a one solid piece for the vertial struts with false fittings glued or welded into place at the proper spacing.

Do not know how well it would hang. You can get a very tight finish on the top of the cars though. Iron on.

So here is what I found. The distance from the center of each pole to pole on the outter facing DCA side of Blue/Green is 73.5 inches even. So the sides of the car from center pole of front support to the back support is 441 inches. I did not have time to get vertical measurements nor find the exact number for the width. The two outer ends of the car are solid wood to the mid section then the add on windows are installed. The vertical and horizontal frame is rounded. The roof vertical supports and horizontal supports are square.

The canvas is a very light material like a table cloth for picnics. It is translucient when light is on the opposite side and the rounded ends are sewn with a fabric to keep them from fraying. The roof is held onto the frame by canvas ties which look like a series of tounges and shoestrings.

Just curious, what was the general public's reaction to you measuring the car dimensions? Were they shocked? :D

I was measuring very early when there were not a whole lot of people around. I missed a few measurements because i was taking pics and trying to write stuff down. The general public tends to not notice a whole lot.
