I bought one of these off ebay today. After reading some user reviews it seemed like a great deal. Very little detail, which is good to me as I would alter / add anyway. They look like they could be a good start for a NWRR loco. I also have a number of HLW flat car kits on the way......I'll post when they come in. What do you all think???
'G' or Large scale if you will....reviews say 1/24 which is perfect to me!

I was thinking of getting one just for the tender to but behind and Accucraft Ruby (for a live steam NWRR loco)

Tender would be a good prototypical replacement for the Hartland Marsh...

go for it! I really like that tender, it would be a good match for my Accucraft Ruby but I already bashed a scientific toys tender.

I got my new Bachmann loco today. I will take some photos and post ASAP. But a few notes.......
It is small for a G scale loco....but quick measurements show it's still a bit big for a Marsh build!!! Boiler diameter and wheel diameter are both too big but I think within the range of OK for a causal model.
Model has 33" vs the 1/1 28" wheels
Boiler is 45" vs 32"
Cylinders are about 50% larger than the 1/1.

The tender may be the best part. It has a WB of 3.25 inches or 6'6" in 1/24.
Overall is 5.5 inches or 11' in 1/24 scale. The tender has a coal load but it is not attached in any way and lifts out!! This would be easy to convert to oil and add tool boxes!!
Overall worth the $50 plus shipping so far!

Wow, that is cheap. Are the rods plastic? And does it use rubber band drive?

Everything but the drive wheels is plastic....most of it unpainted.....but I figured that before I bought and at that price was willing to 'rebuild' it. The large scale boards report it runs fine but it will need some weight added to pull anything but the 2 cars it comes with in the sets. But even if I only get a decent looking display unit out of it I still feel like a decent deal. The tender may be worth that to many!!!

Drive is some type of gear drive but yet to take apart!

I won't be surprised if Bachmann parts sells the tender at some point. They did so for the On30 2-6-0s.

How does that tender look next to a Hartland Marsh? The bottom of Marsh's cab where the brass trim is runs an imaginary line to line up with the bottom deck of the tender where another brass trim line is nailed on. Is there an ability to change out the wheels on the tender for metal wheels? The Hartland tender acts as an additional electrical pick up for the engine.
