Does anyone have that rare HO scale Walt Disney World Railroad train set with the Walter E Disney 4-6-0 locomotive, tender, and 2 passenger cars? I saw one running on a layout at a local model train show last week. Who manufactured it? Is their a possible chance I can find one in decent shape? :D

Your best bet at finding one would be ebay, they were sold at the parks for a time around 2003 and maybe 2004 too, so they've been discontinued for quite sometime. Weirdly I have no idea what brand they are.

I sold mine a year or so ago on bay.....went for way more than it was worth to me. It was not made by any of the US manufactures. I sold it because it was cheap looking, almost no paint all parts molded in a translucent plastic. Wheel flanges were gigantic. The cars were OK but better similar are made now. I was really disappointed in it. If it sells today what it did a year ago be prepared to PAY! I have a pic somewhere I will try and find.

I do have a set that I got for half price (or maybe less) at the Character Warehouse outlet a couple of years after they came out. Sorry to say it isn't for sale, though.

i know what you mean, i have this HO western express train set from the 1950's and the flanges are huge. I like the set because its the only accurate or close to accurate WDWRR train. Bachmann makes HO Jackson Sharp open sided excursion cars that would look good with the Walter. Did they run good? :D

I thought they were made by Bachmann or Life Like, the tracks look similar. How much was the set when it was sold at the park?

They would sell for around $50.00 or thereabouts. The main problem I had with it is that I always found it to be lacking in many ways. I mean, it had no light, no sound, no smoke, no railings on the excursion cars, and not to mention it would tend to get stuck and lose power while running.

well, it is a budget train set, they did not add those awesome features because the train set would be too expensive i guess. :?
