Today we have eight new pictures from the Walt Disney World Railroad, courtesy of Allen White. He took these during his June 2005 trip, which included the Magic Behind Our Steam Trains Tour. Thanks for sharing your pictures, Allen!

Excellent Pictures! Is that the Lilly Belle in regular park service? Or just for show? I think that Lilly has the potential to take a full day of park service. She's probably well enough to do that Just get her coaches fixed, however :D

Hey! This is my 100th post! (What now? What's next?)

That's the Lilly Belle making its daily test runs around the park before opening, as seen during the Magic Behind Our Steam Trains tour. It is out for the show, and then back to the roundhouse.

Does this mean that Lilly Belle's okay? If so, then why is she only used for show and resting the rest of the day?

From everything I have heard, and from the information that has been posted on this board several times, the Lilly Belle is used only for the show mainly because of the lack of safety bars and side panels on the coaches of the green train and not due to any problems with the engine. Rather than uncoupling from the show train and coupling to a different trainset, the Lilly Belle is just used for the show train and then taken back to the roundhouse.

I remember riding behind the Lilly this january. I was told that the Lilly did the show then moved back into the roundhouse where the saftey bars were screwed back on and then moved back out for a full day's service. Maybe it was when the Walter started to get worked on. Sorry if I'm wrong.:D

This was correct at the time. Now with the larger side panels, it is not time friendly to put them on and take them off the same day. It takes too long, so its just easier to run with another trainset.

Is that "bad" for the Lilly Belle to only operate it for the show and then put it out of service for the rest of the day? I thought I had read somewhere that steam locomotives don't like to be fired up for only a short amount of time.

Is there some reason why the park just can't discontinue the morning show if this short operating schedule is harmful to the Lilly Belle? The way that the park is so dedicated to that show, it sounds like Cynthia Harriss is floating around! :p

With or without the morning show (with a daily, year-round operation as-is), setting aside some bucks for a shop boiler wouldn't sound like a foolish investment...

Remember that post where someone(I forgot who) said it was probably easier for the rounhouse crew not to play musical trains :D  (he also mentioned he wasn't a cast member and that he was only speculating[i'm not a cast member either and wouldn't know])
