The Burnsland Video clip for September comes from the recently refurbished it's a small world at the Magic Kingdom. Love it or hate it, it is still a classic. And I must say that it looks better than it has in a long time. Bright colors, animatronics that actually work, an improved sound system. And it seemed to be drawing bigger crowds than in recent years, too.

This video clip also includes my attempt at a Burnsland Video "theme". I thought it sounded pretty cool at first, but now it seems a little goofy.

DIsneyland's is still better in my opinion i just like how it has its own facade and building as well as an open loading area. i do not like how yours is hidden in the castle building along with the other dark rides of a typical fantasyland. i do not know if wdw has a christmas version or not. does anybody know?

I'm anxious to see what kinds of improvements were made to the Magic Kingdom's It's a Small World. Along with the Pirates of the Caribbean there, that was the most disappointing attraction amongst myself and my family.

At Disneyland, It's a Small World is highlighted in terms of its location and exterior facade. At the Magic Kingdom it's just sort of..."there." On my first ever trip to the Magic Kingdom, I actually walked right past It's a Small World without even realizing it until I glanced at the map in my hand and then turned and looked back over my shoulder!

There is not a "Small World Holiday" at WDW, much for the same reasons there is not "Haunted Mansion Holiday".

Another reason to go to disneyland. yes i know i am biased torward the california park but i only live an hour away and i have an annual pass. I did go to wdw about five years ago and with the xception of tot and rocknrollercoaster in mgm studios and all of epcot i thought disneyland was better. i also think a major factor is where you grow up also i like the small size and compactness of the california park as you can walk everywhere relatively easy and not have to use buses to get everywhere.

NO HAUNTED MANSION HOLIDAY!?? What kind of world is WDW, the house looks scarier but the ride is the same sheesh, thats a bit boring, it needs HAUNTED MANSION HOLIDAY to make the ride match the building. :p :p

This has probably been answered somewhere on the discussion board, but I have no idea where to look, so I'll ask it here. Why exactly would WDW not have a "Haunted Mansion Holiday" or an "it's a small world holiday?" Both are wildly successful at the park in California, so I would think that they would want to duplicate that in some of their other parks.

The market segments are different... Disneyland gets a LOT of repeat business from the Annual Passholeders and locals, so by "adding" new attractions it gives them a reason to return during the holidays... so while your there to try out the "new" attractions, why not have dinner or do some holiday shopping.

At WDW, you have a also high percent of return guests but they are not the every couple of week Annual Pass holders, they are the once a year / once every other year type visitors. Most would not build a special trip around a re-themed attraction. WDW does do the longer festivals to help bring people in (Food & Wine / Flower & Garden). The Candlelight Processional running for the entire month of December or the Flower Power concert series end up being the "added" attractions for WDW.

My personal opinion:
Keep the HMH & SWH attractions exclusive to DL. As much as I am a fan of both (and the Matterhorn too), I don't want to see every Magic Kingdom park be the same. Keep them unique. If you really want though, we can send you Stitch's Great Escape :)

I agree with not cloning the attractions at each park for others. No do not send stitch. i do not know what it is like but i liked alien encounter and i am sad that they took it away. as for the matterhorn you guys have a version over there called space mountain which has the same type of twist and turns and was supposed to have the same type of experience except in space and not on a bobsled run. what you need is a ride more like disneyland's space mountain fast and smooth.plus the matterhorn makes disneyland more unique as it is one of the few rides whose theming has not been cloned though the space mountain theming has been for every other park and that is understandable. even indiana jones has been cloned for disneysea except that it is supposed to be located in south america instead of india as the california version.
