Just saw the following over at MousePlanet.com. Sounds like it could be interesting, along the lines of the roundhouse tour. Anyone know more?

MousePlanet.com wrote:
Guests staying at the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge can attend a special activity offered periodically in the resort's Iron Spike Room. "A Conversation with a Magic Kingdom Steam Train Specialist" will offer the chance to hear about the connections between Disney and the railroads of America. Guests can check the activities listing in their check-in folder to find out if the activity will be taking place during their stay.

This is an extension of the Magic Behind Our Steam Trains Tour program. It is conducted by the same guides that conduct the regular tour, and has been offered once a month for about the last 3 months.

The quote from MousePlanet didn't mention a separate charge or reservations. So is it correct to assume that there is no charge, and you can just show up at the appropriate time?

How has it been received by the general public?

There is no charge for the "Conversation With..." you just arrive at the Iron Spike Room at the appointed time and the fun begins. I have not been to any of them yet but I hear there is a good guest response for something that is really not advertised except to guests staying at WL & VWL with stays the match with the presentation.

Its a great partnership to expand the legacy of Walt railroads.

That is correct, there is NO charge, and it is open to anyone. The WL guests receive notice of the presentation, BUT, it is open to the general public. The next presentation is Tuesday, October 17, 2006, at 11:30 AM. The scheduled guide, who also happens to be the author of the script, is George.

I don't know yet. It seems to be on a month to month basis. I will post when I learn more.

I would be interested to know if there will be a presentation in January. I'll be on vacation for 3 weeks visiting my family in Orlando during that time, and could make a day trip over there if one was going on.
