COULD SOMEONE EXPLAIN HERE!!!!!!

There's a new train in the roundhouse. This poor little fella has been around the block too... built in 1927... it was used at Kentucky coal mines. In 1980 it moved to Marriott's Great America (now owned by Cedar Fair), in 1991 it was sold to a private collector. Then in 1997 it was traded to Walt Disney World and named the Ward Kimball.

The poor little thing couldn't haul a loaded train up the Tomorrowland grade to Main Street Station. So it was basically traded again to Cedar Point for the "Maud L" which was sent to California and is now operating at Disneyland as the Ward Kimball. So now both "Ward Kimball" engines are in California just a few miles from each other. Interesting, eh? Can't wait to see this one out and about!!

Not much to explain that hasn't been said, Retlaw.

What? You don't think of 2-4--4 Forneys when you think of iconic Old West steam engines?

I looked like the Ward Kimball cause I looked at the old shot of it from 1998.

Shoot, that little fella has been around the block? What about me! I went from Southern California, to Florida, to Northern Ohio, and now maybe back to Southern California to track down that locomotive! :D

Actually that Davenport Forney went to Marriott's Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, not the similar park in Santa Clara, California. The Great America in Gurnee is now owned by Six Flags which was bought by Premier Parks. The Great America in Santa Clara is the one now owned by Cedar Fair, which bought out Paramount Parks.

So, I wonder what the CP&LERR is going to do with all that new found space in their roundhouse.

Jenny K is going to be moved from out back into the enginehouse.
We've discussed this transfer of motive power over at the CP&LE boards, so I won't go into detail about it here.

Yes, it is the Ex-Ward Kimball.

It left our Engine House on Friday Febuary 9th, and arrived at Knott's on Monday Febuary 19th.

Now, just sit back and wait to see what happens.

Walter Knott would have noticed the problem.
Walt Disney would have noticed as well.
Ward could have mentioned it to someone.
We all know what's wrong.
But to the present managment at Cedar Faire. . .it's a choo-choo!

However, the crews at Knotts will give that loco as much love and care as the budget will allow, thank heaven.

my answer is its better to have locos running than rotting, if we could get another steam engine running is all that we really should care about, i mean, its better to have ,more locomotives running then rotting in the dark shed
