This thread is just further proof of exactly how far "out there" I really am compared to 99.99% of the population. I go to Disneyland to have a fun, good time with my family. I do not care one single bit if the park's attractions make an impact on how to spend taxpayers' money outside the berm.

I just go there to have fun and to escape from my daily life. Yep, I'm weird. :D

Does anyone know if they will sell the toy of the new monorail like the WDW line that is being sold?

Any way I like the new look of the monorails and I have to get back to Disneyland now sometime in 2011 or 2012 for Cars land.

They are looking at some merchandise options for the new monorail, possibly including a toy version (like the WDW monorail toy).

Hopefully they will spend the few exstra dollars and make it run from an electrical outlet. Batteries never lasted to long on those things anyway. Apparently red failed some of the tests and can't run on the track or something (check miceage and mouseplanet).

yup I read that some how I feel like disney has been through this type of thing before aka the first Ward Kimball I know its not the exact same thing but for me at least it seems like I've heard this story before. What I don't know though is why "red" failed is it a problem in how she takes to the beam or is it somthing in the electrical system?

Rumor I heard: the new monorail could not get past the first curve in the beam. I've seen nothing in writing. Can someone post link(s)?

What is happening with the new monorail? Just thought that I would ask as it has been awhile and haven't heard anymore about it.

They got it working now, they had to make some adjustments to the pick-up shoes on the train. Before they could only tow it with the tractor at a slow speed. Now they are testing it at full speed under its own power.

See for yourself!

Thanks Sam, I couldn't get the link to work on my computer at my house. I will have to try at my shop in the morning. I did find a video of it being set on the rail on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXnAcUYmOu4
