I am somewhat surprised that Knotts is actually working on the engine. At Cedar Point, we have two engines that sit and rot away due to budget restraints. Both parks are owned by Cedar Fair with Cedar Point being the flagship park. But good to see that Knotts is serious about getting the engine up and running!!!

They had a situation a couple of weekends ago when they really could have used her. The contractor had just poured some concrete footers in the Pony Express site (which the GT&C goes through) and the soil engineer was concerned that the vibration of the 30+ton C19 and it's train would affect the setting of the concrete.
On that day (a Saturday) the schedule was held down by the Galloping Goose. It did all right early in the morning, but by late afternoon it was readily apparent that the even modest crowd was taxing it's capacity.

I stumbled upon this image on google, it's an old pic, but I don't think I've ever seen it steamed up in a picture before:

I'm wondering if this is during it's Great America ownership, or Bill Norred ownership?

Judging by the cars that are behind it, I beleive this was taken at Shop Services (Midwest Central Railroad) before it was delievered to Bill Nored. This is the only time that we know of that she was under steam as it was her trial runs after the rebuild.

I agree about the location. It definitely doesn't look like the Keystone Light Railways shop, no trees!

Not to my knowledge. Haven't heard from my contacts there lately.I will be going up for Haunt in early October tho. The latest pic I've seen of her shows that they have buttoned up the steam dome. I'ts possible that it has had an initial inspection. I know that the super there wants to re plumb the cab and correct the issue of the tank spring. The latter sits rather low, and he's concerned that with the tank full it will drag across the frogs.

Rumor has it, the ex-Ward Kimball will be heading back to Cedar Point for possible use.
