Thursday the 13th I asked what was happening and was told that they still have some clearance issues around the Matterhorn. Also indicated that first public operation may be early April.

"DarkBeer" has posted some new pictures from this morning of the new monorail in action, doing some guest-less daytime testing.

I must say, that is one nice monorail! Really shows how outdated the looks of the Mark V's were.

No more Duct tape!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hopefully they stay that way and never have indignities similar to the monosub and dreamorails thrust upon them to advertise jay rasulo's latest promotion. I still say they should paint one black. so at disneylnad we have had space ships, lear jets and now killer whales flying over the beamways of tomorrowland.

I just found this vid in which we get to hear the horn! to my ear anyway it does not sound like the same Grover 1055's that were used in the mark V trains :( really close though.(it could just be that shot though I'v seen shots of the Mark V's where their horns sounded different) it could be worse though they could have put car horns on them like the Mark I trains had!

I had my first glimse of the new monorail on the night of April 21st!!

I was with friends, and we were celebrating my automotive award ( slight plug here):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dF1z-K_p3bY

...and as we were leaving Rainforest Cafe, about 9PM, into the Downtown Disney parking lot, THERE IT WAS!! AAHH!! AWESOME!!! I have to say, it's an awesome sight, and it was just leaving the DD station, but going quite slow. It's ominous, and I no longer call it a "killer whale". I like it.

You can see the LED lighting inside the cars! It's one of those things that are much better looking in person. It gives the whole monorail idea a whole new look. Sorry to say, tho, it does make the Mk Vs look old.
