I just got back from disneyland this past weekend. In person, the horn does sound the same as the mark V. It looked neet running, though it will get some getting use to. Still no riders though  I wonder when they will let people start riding it. 8)

I understand they're having heat and ventilation problems. They failed to put in AC except for the operator and the vent fans don't work right. It's apparently a VERY hot ride.

Nope, only in the nose-cones.

Bah, just throw a window a/c unit in per car and they'll be good to go. Sure it is a little ghetto...

This has to be one of the dumbest decisions I have ever heard...particularly given that the monorails operate on electricity. It's not like they burn expensive gas or diesel!

As I recall the WDW monorails have AC units and the windows won't open, The older Mark V's don't have AC except in the ends and the windows open allowing cross ventlation. Sounds like they had the same plan for the Mark VII except they forgot about the open window thing and tried to do it with forced ventlation. That would require fairly high CFM to keep the temp inside with in a few degrees of outside.

If a WDW monorail stops it can be real hot, real quick.

If they tried putting A/C units in every car, it would add more weight to an already overweight train. And the electrical load put on the track will be too high to accommodate three monorails.

I thought that the Mark V monorails did have A/C in the early days when they first entered service. I assumed that it just broke or something and they never bothered to fix it. Was that just my imagination?
