In another thread I mentioned I was watching for Tyco rogers 10 wheel loco's to build a WDW Lilly Belle and a ROY. Steve pointed out that they are not 10 wheelers but the uneven drive wheel spacing does match pretty close to the Lilly Belle. The wide Spacing between the rear most driver axles also reminds me of Roy. Both require some boiler modifications and Smoke box bob's but the drive is a close starting place. In the picture above you can see some of the mods to get the wheel arrangements right. Just thinking out loud for the moment. :D

I'm right in the middle of a Rogers conversion myself. Yes, I've got a digital camera- but I'm struggling to upgrade my system, to use it.

My rebuild will be Sn3.5(running on HO track.) It won't be a Disneyland or WDW model per-se, but it will be Disney-styled and painted.

Jazzfan, can you please pm me the pics of your engines? I am working on reproducing all 4 WDW park engines and there coaches and could use them as a reference. I have several HO WED train sets I got off of Ebay, and can modify one for the Roger, but am looking at different trains for the Lilly and the Roy.

Sorry to disappoint but I have not yet built any models, I am only in the planning stages now. Roy and Lilly are where I think you can use the Mantua Rogers 10 wheeler as a base. Both will need bobbed smoke boxes and new stacks. I have purchased a couple to work on but I have not yet started on any modification, that won't happen till this fall. I will post photos when I get started.

I am also investigating the use of the very similar 4-8-0 rogers locomotive for Walter and Roger. Once again losing a drive axle. One of the problems with these locos is that there are two different styles of steam/sand domes and one is right for WDW and the other is wrong. I have two locos to play with and only one steam dome is correct.

You might try posting for such a part here:

Of course, there's also ebay, where such parts are commonly sold.

it might be an easier conversion starting with one of the newer Bachmann HO 4-6-0s...the driver spacing and general shape is correct, they'd just need to be back-dated and painted...

OTOH, the new Bachmann On30 4-6-0 would make a perfect WDW 4-6-0

(no I don't work for Bachmann  I just like small 4-6-0's and they seem to have that market cornered these days)

You may need to fabricate a new dome from scratch if you want a correct one. I did that recently on my HO Holliday giving it more accurate domes by turning them on my dremel from scratch.

Blacksheep:

I have considered the Bachmann Spectrum 4-6-0, the wheel spacing is about right but the domes and boiler taper have to be moved, and they need the smoke box bobbed as well. Of course the way things are going I could get them before I could get the mautua units and maybe cheaper.

Sam the correct dome is very close to those on the WDW railroad.
