We asked Accucraft for an update last week and are awaiting their reply.

Funny you should ask. We just got the information from Accucraft on Friday. The electric engine and coaches should arrive in early 2010. The engine is priced at $585, which isn't bad considering the changes in brass prices and currency over the last four years.

The pricing of the coach is still up in the air, and the minimum order quantity is pretty high. We may have to take pre-orders to see if we can get to the MOQ before placing the order with Accucraft.

It's pretty much the same situation with the Kalamazoo handcar: the MOQ is much higher than I think will sell. But, I was very wrong about the interest in the live steam FWRR engine, so maybe I'm wrong here.

We'll update the site to take orders in the near future.

They're plastic, rather than brass, but Bachmann makes G gauge trolleys with very similar coachwork.

:D Got a daughter getting married.
 Make less $$ than I did a few years ago.
:x Cost of living is higher.
 My wife needs a newer car.
:? Making motorhome payments on a motorhome that's been in storage for the last year and not being used AT ALL!!!!
 Our property taxes went up!

 But I've got my priorities straight. I want an electric FW engine as soon as it becomes available and figure that if my wife does't mind using her bike to get to work, I can get it!

Early 2010 could mean I'd use my tax refund for the Electric FWRR loco. Do you have any time on the hand car?? or price. :)

The handcar would be mid-to-late 2010.

But I'd encourage all of you to remember that this is an "Accucraft time" estimate. We've had products delivered well over a year after the estimated due date, and I have no reason to believe that these will be any different. 2010 could swiftly turn into 2011.

I think the FWRR engines are likely to be close to on-time because they've already done most of the engineering work. The handcar, being the first of its kind, could take a lot longer to prototype.

Don't know if it is too early to ask, but are we still looking at a release date early next year?
