While reading a WDW trip report on the DISBoard tonight, I saw a photo someone posted, I think it was of their stay several years back in the cabins somewhere around Fort Wilderness. In the background of the photo was a beautiful art print of the FWRR. This picture was part of the cabin's decoration. I've never seen a print like this. I'll try to describe the print as best I can. The print was framed and showed a FWRR train coming around a curve through the woods. There were a few people on either side of the track in this print. The print appears to me to be drawn by a Disney artist. To find this photo, go to DISBoard.com, go to Trip Reports and scroll down until you come to 3/4-3/12 Wilderness Lodge, Thongs, Celebrities, Birthday Fun & River Country. The trip report post is on page 101 of a post by OneTreeHillAddict and appears about halfway down this page. Anyone out there have any idea about this picture? I'd pay for a copy of that picture!

Okay, I looked at the photo with the print again. More details. The train is about to cross a bridge on a curve. To the right of the bridge are people in canoes. A red canoe and a yellow canoe. On the left in the foreground are some more people, appears to be children.

Is that the picture you are speaking of?

I think one of those prints is alive and well in the CM training room in the Fort's service building to the right after the reception outpost area. I'll be back in a few weeks and will try to go and see if it's still there.

Sweet drawing! I've never seen that before. I wonder if it was drawn by Bob McDonnell?

Now that I can see it closer, it doesn't look like Bob's work. Still, it's a beautiful rendering.

Hi Folks,

This was done by a Disney artist (haven't identified the artist yet...) as concept art back in the early 70's. It appeared in the back of early souvenir guides for the Fort.

It's a great piece of art on the FTW RR!
