Does anyone have any recent pictures of the "Fort Wilderness Railroad" car(s) at Disneyland Paris?

Hi Todd,

Very interesting! I hope someone might be able to post some photos!! Am curious as to their origin?

Hi Todd,

I have solved the mystery of FTW RR coaches at Disneyland Paris. Thanks to Michael Campbell, he informed me that the streetcar there was based on the FTW RR coach design. There was consideration of using some of the old equipment, but it wasn't cost effective.

Just wanted to say hello. Although I'm familiar with the FWRR, I only recently found and joined the forum. This is my first post. It's good to be aboard with you folks.

Hi Todd,

I spent a bunch time out on the web yesterday. I found about what you have found. Pics of the DLP streetcars (and RR for that matter) seem to be pretty scarce on the web, including some real comprehensive trip reports. Folks don't seem too interested in snapping photos of the DLP streetcars!

Here is a pic of the Disneyland Paris streetcars (in May 2010). Hard to believe they are not Fort Wilderness cars repurposed. They are dead ringers for the former Orlando cars!

Apparently the trio are Severn-Lamb products, as seen on the Severn-Lamb website. But they sure look like the Fort Wilderness cars.

Hi Folks,

The cars are not actual FWRR cars. They are based on the design however. Bob Harpur was the Imagineer for the railroads for the then "Euro Disney". He told me the "FWRR car design" worked well for two reasons. One, there were still some castings in California that could be used. Two, the enclosed design (as compared to WDW and DL) worked well since Paris gets cold.....

Hope this helps!

David
