Post your pictures of the Western River Railroad!

Continuing on a theme: Just wanted to start a thread where the only real purpose is to post pictures of the Tokyo Disneyland trains, stations, and equipment.

Please post your pics of the Western River Railroad operations here, even if you've posted them elsewhere under other topics and categories. Might make a good resource for modelers.

First up: By early 2008 I was well aware of this forum -- and lack, at least back then, of pics of the WRR. Imagine my attitude visiting Tokyo Disneyland in March 2008 and finding the train was down for maintenance. Ugh. All I got was a picture of the sign!! Can't tell you how badly I was hoping to get some good pics of the trains to share! But maybe someone will post some new ones here soon...

Replying to your own post. How lame is that?

Well, this is interesting. A fellow named Rob Lewis in the UK has been collecting the Western River Railroad trains by Tomix in essentially HO scale (running on N scale track) for some time. The models have apparently been long discontinued and Rob is looking for more info on them -- and other collectors. Here's his web page. (Photos used here with permission - several more can be found on his site.)

Does anyone else have photos of these models? More info on them?

Hi Todd,
Thanks, for these photos. As you probably know, Tomy had the the actual TDL locomotives made, and has some sort of exclusive arrangement with Tokyo Disney. There are four of them, and they are 30" gauge.

They also made a static plastic kit of the locomotive in 1:45 scale.

I thought that Tomy just sponsored the attraction, i.e. paid to have their advertising on the railroad. Were they involved with the manufacture of the trains at the park too?

BTW, my previous link page has links to a 1:45 scale line drawing, and a colored version, too.

To bad those little Tomix engines are so hard to come by they would make a great base for a Marsh!

I bought myself two little die cast models of the engines. I did not see any other toys. I was hunting down the attraction poster but no luck. I will make a trip down there later on this year and search again. Maybe this time without people telling me to hurry up.
