Hi everyone, I recently ordered one of the FWRR G scale electric locomotives and passenger cars. I sent in a few questions about the locomotive and they sent me some updated pictures. I asked them if these pictures were private or if I could share them and they made it sound like it would be no problem to pass them along to anyone that may be interested in seeing them. I get the impression that these are a little more up to date than what's shown on carolwoodcollection.com

It sounds like the locomotives will be completed by the middle of August with delivery sometime in September. I was not able to get any specific information about when the handcars or passenger cars will be complete.

In one of these pictures there is a caption "Change to FRWW". I inquired about that and it's apparently a typo. The model will say "FWRR" in that location.

Enjoy!

Kudos to Accucraft and everyone involved with these remarkable models. They are truly works of art!

(Just make sure that smokebox front is straightened, and I'd leave the back of the water glass silver, not white. )

I am pretty sure the notes are from Michael walking into his backyard and looking at the proto type for color. :D

Wow what a difference they have made on the electric vs the steam version. Will the production model actually be #3 or will it remain #4 as with the steam version. I might actually order the electric just for the accuracy factor. But I also need 3 more regular passenger cars to make the train! Decisions, decisions!

Does anyone know the measurements on this version?

Hello,
Looking at these photos remain me how wonderfull the FWRR engine is and how sad I am to have missed the live steam version :( .As my railroad is not track powered unfortunately I can't buy this one (or if I do I won't be able to run it ).
My only hope now is that once they have the electric version, some of you will part with their live steam one (at a non eBay price !)
Jean-Michel (St Etienne, France)
PS : I even considered buying one and kitbashing a Ruby but this seems as a completely mad idea

Welcome Jean-Michel:

I'm not likely to sell my live steam version but kit bashing a Ruby is about what the Accucraft people did to build the FWRR #4, so why not try. Since the locomotive to be modified is still quite expensive you may want to build things to add on rather than cut up you locomotive but if you have kit bashed or scratch built anything for your railroad the task should not be too daunting.

Looks beautiful. :) I'm not into 1:17 scale, or any other no. 1 gauge scale. But that takes nothing from these fine models, which will undoubtedly sell out very quickly. :!:

Nurb, I don't have the engineering sample any longer, so I'm not sure of the exact dimensions. It was very close to the live steam version, so I'll try to take some measurements this weekend.

Also, Accucraft just told me that the engines will ship on August 15. So, the pre-order deadline is now August 1. It takes about 3-4 weeks for shipments to reach Union City, and then we have to ship them from there. So, I expect that the engines will reach people mid-September.

BTW, Jean-Michel, I received a note from a fellow Burnslander that they are going to sell their live steam version on eBay so that they can buy the electric engine. You might want to keep an eye out for it on eBay in the coming weeks.
