From what I understand...and being that was the train I learned on (as an engineer): the pony wheels were spreading out the track and knocking it out of whack. Lilly's coaches were also the ones that didn't get the "side panels" on the left side, so that the characters and family could step through and off onto the platform facing the turnstiles.

Someone else on here may come along and confirm deny the pony wheels, but that's what I was told when I asked about it, too. That was why she didn't run all day long when/if they needed her as a third train.

Still my favorite Disney locomotive :)

Are they redesigning and rebuilding the front truck suspension?

I can say that I have never heard that about the pony trucks, and I can not think of any reason that would cause that to be a true statement.

Joey, that's just what I was told by the maintenance guys that were there when I was there. I know it's something to do with the alignment of the ponies or something, that';s why Lilly is only a "show train", and not run on a regular basis.

I know I did read something about Lilly having problems with her pony wheels, then again I'm pretty sure it was here where I read it. Either way, it certainly should be taken care of in her overhaul.

Well, there was that one time, shortly after a previous rehab, that one of her pilot wheels fell off on the back stretch. Doesn't sound like it was putting too much pressure on the rails.

Yeah, I believe that it fell into the Rivers of America as she was passing by the turn bridge. It's almost as if that pony wheel was bothering her so much that she wanted to get rid of it for good, so she tossed it into the water.

Right. Just strap some roller skates to the bottom of the cowcatcher.
