Does anyone know if there'll be a "Rededication" of Lilly? I doubt I'd be able to make it, but...I'd like to get one of the jacket patches if anyone comes up with one. I have one for Roy, Roger, and George's retirement. Would like to add a "Lilly" to the collection :)

Looking for news on Miss Lilly Belle. Anyone got any new information that hasn't been posted?

I've noticed that Marsh is back at Disneyland and C.K. is going out for a rebuild in 2013. Does anyone know if one of the boys are going for a rebuild after Lilly gets back? I know its been the longest since Walter got his last off property refurb which was in '99.

Are you thinking that each engine gets a major rebuild every 10 or 15 years? Because I'm thinking not.

Or are you (LillyBelleFan2-6-0) drawing a conclusion about how the WDWRR is operated based on how the DRR is operated?

Not a major rebuild but that would be the time window for tube replacement.

No, I realize there are many differences between how each railroad is run. I just thought that because Walter needs a rebuild soon (or so I thought) they might do something similar.

I did think they would need a rebuild every 10-15 years considering Walter has been fired up just about everyday since his return and parts wear out. But I'm not an expert so I'm probably wrong.

Well Walter was down for the first half of 2007 (about six months) for an in-house rehab. I believe her main issue then was her pilot wheels which got replaced.

Yep, you're probably wrong. Wait. No...you are wrong.

An engine will go out for a major overhaul when she needs it, not on a schedule. And not depending on how many day's she's operated. Why, in your "educated opinion," do you think Walter needs a rebuild? What gives you that knowledge?

Parts do wear out...and are repaired as needed.
